Social Satire by Chuck Palaniuk

Social Satire by Chuck Palaniuk

Many of us are familiar with satire and what it means to mock a situation for the sake of entertainment, but is it okay to hit the nail so clearly on the head? Chuck Palahniuk thinks so. Which is a very good thing, because he does it like no other. Chuck Palahniuk just may be the king of satire. Chuck has written seven major novels. Four of those have found their way on the best sellers lists and two of them have been adapted into movies.

The most popular of Chuck's books is Fight Club. Fight Club earned a large cult following with both the movie and the novel. It made a perfect mockery of how Americans take life too seriously and struggle to make a great career for themselves while life just passes them by. Jack, the main character, ends up quitting his job and starting a secret "fight club" where finds out there is a lot more to living than he ever understood.

I won't ruin it for you, but its a great read. If you're a fan of social satire you should give any of Chuck's books a chance.
