The Webmaster is Watching You By the Minister of Propaganda

Greetings Comrades. I am Minister of Propaganda for the Reality Syndicate. I began as newest Guest Columnist here only weeks ago with my first article, Knowledge Crimes and How Not to Commit Them. Now I feel it is my dignified duty to inform proles of the Reality Syndicate like yourselves about the omnipresence of the Webmaster. As you read, remember, if you ever have a question or a complaint about anything I say, e-mail our complaint department at admission_of_guilt@reality-syndicate.com.

Let's begin. Pictured here is him, the great one, the Webmaster. This site is his dream and you, as readers, are a part of his dream whether you choose to be or not. Do not defy the dream of the Webmaster or you will be violently crushed by the iron fist of his loyal followers. As you consider that, remember, the Webmaster is your friend. The Webmaster loves you. The Webmaster wants only good for you.

As long as you do not defy the Webmaster.

The Webmaster watches you at all times. Sometimes you will see the Webmaster's face staring malevolently back at you through your monitor. This is because the Webmaster cares about you and wants to watch over you at all times in order to closely scrutinize the activities of the people and spot potential dissidents. Basically, he watches you because he is your friend.

At times the image of the webmaster may not move, and at times it may not even be present on your screen. Do not worry though, his all seeing eye is still squarely on you, keeping track of mouse clicks and keystrokes. If you cannot see the comforting image of the cold heartless Webmaster staring into your habitation space because you've turned off your monitor or your computer, know that you have committed a crime against the state and Site Police are already en route to your living quarters to take to a reeducation center deep below the surface of the city. If the Site Police do not arrive within fifteen minutes, please be a good citizen and contact the central precinct at admission_of_guilt@reality-syndicate.com.

Being a loyal to the site does not have to be all surveillance and obedience. It can be fun too. Try saving some of your food rations for a week and throw a site-authorized assembly in your designated dormitory with a few comrades. Pass the time by staring into the piercing gaze of the Webmaster and talk about the glory of the site. Compare ideas about how to better serve the site and increase efficiency in your work habits.

Now that you have learned more about the Webmaster, do not fear him. Love him. Love him or pay with your life.
